NBN Internet Repairs
Local communications technicians servicing Perth. Call Justin Today.
All our technicians that attend any service fault are fully qualified communications technicians and have an open cablers registration to do repairs on services inside the home, NBN work on a street level and to your property.
We service FTTN / FTTC / HFC
If you have crackling lines, have slow NBN or ADSL speeds, we can confidently test your wiring system back to the boundary and beyond.
Our technicians carry ADSL & VDSL testing equipment and also cable testing equipment to test the integrity of your cabling back to the exchange.
There are many ways NBN can get services to your property, see below the list of services and links to find out more.
FTTN: (Fibre to the node) This is a fancy way of saying ‘the old copper network’. Basically Fibre to the Node means the Fibre stops at the exchange. From the exchange the signal is converted from Fibre to copper and transmitter down the coper phone lines to your property. If you live in an older home with multiple phone points in different rooms or if the copper cabling (phone cable) from the pit to the home or from the NTD box on the wall has deteriorated then you may find you have drop outs and or slow internet speeds with NBN. We can attend and assess your copper cabling and repair / replace if required. We do a fixed price NBN ready rewire using CAT6 cabling. This involves disconnecting all the old phone points in the home and re running a new CAT6 outlet from the NTD box to a new wall outlet ready for the NBN. If you do not have an NTD we will install one one the wall.

FTTC: (Fibre to the Curb) Fibre to the curb means that the optic fibre NBN cable from the exchange terminates at the pit on the street outside your property. From the pit the fibre cable is converted back to copper and the NBN service will transmit to your home via the existing copper cabling. Just like FTTN the cabling integrity comes into play again and just like FTTN you may need to have your cabling checked, tested and possible replaced if you are having issues with speeds and drop outs.

FTTP: (Fibre to the Premises) Fibre to the premises means the optic fibre cable from the exchange terminates in your home. You may find this box could be installed anywhere depending on where the NBN technician feels like installing it. You will normally find a UPS power supply in your carport, this isn’t your NBN modem its just a power supply unit in case there is a power outage. The fibre will terminate in a modem and from here there will be a data cable that runs from the NBN modem to your local router. This is the most reliable way to get the NBN but unfortunately this all depends on where you live. FTTP was NBNs dream at the start, but unfortunately we all know where this ended.

HFC: (Hybrid Fibre Coax) HFC is a Coax RG6 cable that runs from the exchange to your property and terminates at a wall plate that looks like a TV point. This wall plate will have an F-type screw in connector and is connected with a cable that is identical to a Foxtel cable. You will normally find your HFC modem will connect in a lounge or TV room. If you are not happy with where the HFC outlet is, we can move this for you to a room of your choose for around $319.00. If you had or have Foxtel Cable or Coax HFC cabling in your home, the NBN will most likely get to you via this network. You may also find Foxtel will contact you to remove your Foxtel service from the cable network and install a satellite on your roof to connect to the Foxtel network via Satellite. Something to keep in mind here is that Foxtel cable can receive some Free to Air TV channels as the Foxtel Satellite network does not, so if you are swapped from Cable to Satellite you will need to have your TV antenna reconnect to this point to receive local TV channels. We can reconnect your TV antenna to your satellite point for around $219.

Have you noticed your internet speed dropping or are you losing SYNC ? Many older homes in Perth have star phone wiring, this is when phone technicians over the years have cut the cable and joined another point to the system, this could be in one location or in multiple locations throughout the home.
Star wiring was fine for phone, but with the introduction of ADSL in the early 2000’s and now the new NBN network that runs on higher frequency VDSL2, this star wiring is a problem. The internet signal bounces around the internal points causing packet errors, in turn causing slow speeds and dropouts. The only way to rectify this is to have a technician attend and test your cabling. For a service call and line test we charge $149.00 inc GST. From here we can rectify your internal wiring and get you the best speed possible. Call Richard to book your NBN service.
Before you start swapping provider’s or buying new routers I would recommend you book in for an ADSL /NBN cabling and speed test. We can come to you home or office and perform all the testing required to locate the problem. If the problem is on your side of the service we can quote and fix the problem while onsite. If the problem is on the providers side of service, we will give you a report to forward on to your provider. The reality is that the providers will very rarely investigate slow speeds or dropouts until you have had a qualoified technician attend and assess. Most of the time the issue is internal to the property so its most likely we can fix your problems.
The short answer is most likely!.. With majority of our rewires you will see some kind of improvement to your NBN or ADSL speeds. As an example we rewired a home in Craigie WA that had ADSL2+ services, the customer wasn’t happy with his Telstra broadband speed and on testing we clocked the download @ 2.8 – 4.0 MBPS. After the rewire we were pulling stable speeds of 22.5 MBPS, that’s an 800% increase in speed. We are finding that with most of our NBN service and fault calls, a rewire will fix or if not improve the customers speeds quite significantly.
-
Unfortunately we can’t guarantee that a rewire will increase your speed, there may be other issues causing your problem that go further down ” the line” to your provider, but it’s another step in resolving your problems.. and it’s a good cost effective place to start before you start chopping and changing providers or modems, BUT we are confident you will see some increase to your speed.
If you have had NBN connected, you will notice that your analog phones will no longer work. For most people this isn’t an issue but for some clients especially the elderly or clients that have monitoring on alarms or health monitors that run of the old phone lines, this could be a problem. But this can be rectified with a little bit of extra cabling and time. We can install a pump back cable from the NBN modem to your existing phone lines. This cost between $150-200 normally and we can get everything back up and running. If you are having issues connecting your phones after NBN has been out, then Call Justin to organise to get this issue rectified.

We were extremely happy with the work completed at our property on Friday 20 January. The house is a little different from the “norm” being a 1950s elevated Queenslander and the guys had to really think outside of the box and work out a number of solutions to mount 3 x TVs, install the necessary points and power and add a digital antenna. The TVs all look great and work perfectly, not a wire to be seen. Their advice was invaluable and the fact they thought to leave additional HDMI cords on our main new smart TV for future purchases will just make my life way easier! Would absolutely recommend Perth TV Antenna’s.

Can’t thank you guys enough for your incredible service!! After initially having one of your competitors out who completely wasted my time (and money) by doing a rubbish job, one of your workers came out the following day to assess the issue. I was given a quote and when you returned the job turned out to be much bigger than initially thought. To top it off you guys charged me exactly what was quoted, stayed back well after work hours to finish the work and even cleaned up the minimal mess that was made. Will always return to you for anything electrical! 5 stars

Perth TV Antennas came out to replace the antenna which had bent over during the storm. The service was efficient and professionally done and without too much fuss. I also appreciated the friendly, down-to-earth way in which Mike, the technician, explained the reasons for replacing the old with the new antenna. I was very happy with the service!
MikeW792 (5 Star Review Word of Mouth)
Our old antenna had detached itself from the roof in the storms last week, and needed replacement or repair. The first tech I had look at it sensibly didn’t want to attempt a repair as our two storey colourbond roof has a very steep pitch, and the previous antenna had been – incorrectly – installed in the middle of the roof. Perth TV Antenna were recommended – by their competitor! – as being the firm to do the job as they could use a two man crew – which is necessary for safety reasons. The guys came on time, quickly assessed the situation, and carefully and safely made their way on to the roof. Once there, they removed the remnants of the old antenna, professionally fitted a new DTV antenna and fixed up the holes left from the old one. Safely! A courteous and professional service. I would certainly recommend them, especially for those ‘difficult’ situations.
